We have had a residential mooring at Tewkesbury Marina since we launched our wide beam boat in December 2016. We chose Tewkesbury for its accessibility to waterways to Stratford upon Avon, Worcester, sharpness and beyond. Tewkesbury town is easily walkable with transport links to Cheltenham and Gloucester and the motorway network within a mile or so of the marina. The marina itself is picturesque with very helpful staff providing all services that are needed. It is an idyllic and peaceful spot to live next to nature with beautiful views.
It is coming up to six years since I permanently moved aboard my boat based in Tewkesbury Marina. Being almost ‘in town’ has great all the usual advantages for shopping, doctors etc, in addition to some very good restaurants, pubs and a renowned theatre. My boat is safe on its mooring and I have access to a greater range of cruising on the Severn which is only minutes away. Secure well lit parking and regularly cleaned spacious showers are also a great asset for me.
We have been lucky enough to live on a residential mooring at Tewkesbury Marina for the last 18 months. Not only is the area beautiful and tranquil a short walk is all that is required to access Tewkesbury town centre with all the stunning medieval architecture, unique shops, pubs and bistro’s. The marina is very well maintained by the friendly and very knowledgeable staff, where it is clear ‘nothing is too much trouble’. We feel exceptionally safe and looked after and the sense of community generated by the staff and fellow boaters will be difficult to sail away from – so we didn’t, and happily renewed our mooring
Tewkesbury Marina is a perfect location in a great town with lots of amenities and the marina itself is so well managed and maintained. The staff are friendly and so helpful. We couldn’t ask for more.
Since berthing at the Marina last year I have received extremely helpful support from all the staff. They often go to extra lengths to meet residents’ needs. The Marina is a delight with all the facilities you could want and a great kicking off point for discovering the Avon
Having lived on a narrow boat in one of the basin moorings, moving onto a widebeam to a river mooring a few years later…Tewkesbury Marina is home. Everything you need is on the door step! Safe, secure & idyllic! Flooding is no issue, we just rise with the pontoons.
We love living at Tewkesbury Marina. It’s our opinion that the staff are what makes a good place to live. The staff here are amazing. They’re continually dealing with floods etc. but are always friendly, helpful when dealing with us as residents.
